Qualifications

• 5 years of workers compensation claim or legal experience.
• 2 years hearing representative experience with strong litigation focus.
• Juris Doctorate or equivalent credential.
• Strong writing and oral advocacy skills.
• Knowledge of jurisdictional workers compensation law and procedures.
• Proficiency with Westlaw, Pacer and MS Office.
• Ability to analyze legal issues with minimal supervision.
• Ability to clearly articulate position.
• Strong organizational and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Independently handles a full to moderate caseload from inception through resolution.
• Conducts hearings, court events and appointments as appropriate.
• Performs legal research as needed.
• Drafts pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and other documents.
• Interprets medical reports and provides disability ratings where applicable.
• Provides case analysis and recommendations to partners and clients.
• Maintains strong client relationships and professional communications.
• Completes administrative tasks including time reporting and case closings.
• Utilizes case management systems and litigation technology effectively.
