Job summary

Oliver James Group is seeking a Workers' Compensation Regulatory Compliance Manager to oversee WC regulatory requirements across jurisdictions and coordinate with underwriting, claims, legal, and operations teams.

You will monitor changes to state laws, support regulatory inquiries, and drive data-driven regulatory reporting and process improvements in a global commercial insurance setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in Property & Casualty insurance with a focus on Workers' Compensation regulatory compliance and/or market conduct.
• Experience in an insurance carrier environment, ideally supporting Workers' Compensation or broader commercial insurance operations.
• Strong understanding of state insurance regulations, market conduct requirements, and regulatory reporting obligations.
• Experience managing or supporting regulatory examinations, audits, and interactions with state insurance departments.
• Familiarity with NCCI, ISO, Medicare reporting, EDI, regulatory data calls, and Workers' Compensation reporting requirements.
• Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business solutions.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with experience partnering across multiple departments.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance & Oversight: Serve as SME on WC regulatory requirements across jurisdictions; monitor changes and advise on actionable compliance practices.
• Market Conduct & Regulatory Examinations: Oversee examinations, audits, and assessments; address findings with stakeholders; enhance internal controls.
• Regulatory Reporting & Data Management: Oversee data calls, reporting obligations, and coordination with Legal, Claims, Operations, IT; ensure timely submissions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement: Work with underwriting, claims, legal, compliance and operations; improve processes and documentation; provide regulatory training.
