Job summary

Oliver James Group is seeking an experienced Statistical Reporting Manager to oversee the preparation, review, and submission of statistical and regulatory reports across commercial insurance lines. You will lead reporting operations, ensuring compliance with external regulatory and bureau requirements while maintaining data governance and accuracy.

The role partners with technology, underwriting, claims, finance, and product teams to enhance processes and data quality.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in a commercial Property & Casualty insurance environment with focus on statistical and regulatory reporting.
• Strong knowledge of commercial P&C products including workers' compensation, excess & surplus lines, and surety.
• Advanced understanding of insurance regulatory reporting requirements, policies, and compliance obligations.
• Experience with industry reporting requirements including bureau reporting, statistical filings, financial data calls, and state regulatory submissions.
• Familiarity with insurance rating organizations and regulatory bodies including managing reporting requirements, inquiries, and data requests.
• Experience interpreting regulatory bulletins, circulars, and legislative requirements to develop accurate reporting processes and business solutions.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into operational procedures, system requirements, and reporting processes.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy when working with complex data sets.
• Knowledge of auditing principles, data validation, and quality control practices.
• Experience with data systems, database structures, and reporting technologies.
• Experience with SQL, Power BI or Cognos, and data platforms like data warehouses or data lakes.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills across functions.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate projects, and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee statistical and regulatory reporting activities to regulatory agencies, bureaus, and industry bodies.
• Establish, monitor, and improve reporting procedures, controls, and QA processes for automated and manual filings.
• Manage reporting workflows, identify process improvements, and implement solutions to enhance data integrity.
• Collaborate with technology and business stakeholders to develop and maintain reporting systems and data processes.
• Provide expertise on insurance reporting requirements and regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
• Interpret regulatory updates and data requests to implement accurate requirements.
• Respond to inquiries from regulatory bodies while maintaining professional relationships.
• Oversee data validation, reconciliation, and audit activities for accuracy and compliance.
• Convert regulatory requirements into practical business processes and system enhancements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve data collection and reporting capabilities.
• Lead, mentor, and develop teams while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
• Support strategic initiatives related to reporting technology, data management, and compliance.
