Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking an Associate Senior Counsel to manage high‑quality, proactive defense work, independently handling a caseload of moderate to high complexity matters in a locally focused national organization.

You will lead litigation efforts, mentor junior attorneys, and collaborate with experts to deliver optimal results for insured clients while advancing professional development within the office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Aptitude for trying cases to a jury; proven track record of jury outcomes.
• Strong technical knowledge with ability to explain complex matters to diverse audiences.
• Proficient oral and written advocacy with success in motions and appeals.

Responsibilities

• Litigate moderate to high exposure cases, including Major Case matters.
• Apply trial skills to try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions.
• Conduct proficient legal research and persuasive drafting.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and other legal documents.
• Attend court events, depositions and appointments independently.
• Provide in-depth case analysis and recommendations to insured clients and claim partners.
• Collaborate with expert witnesses and consultants to develop case strategies.
• Mentor junior attorneys and support staff.
