National Interstate Insurance Company (NIIC) is seeking a Workers Comp Senior Claims Representative to join our team. The role offers hybrid work from Richfield, OH four days a week or full remote work from anywhere in the USA, with core in‑office days Tue–Thu.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of property and casualty claims experience and a potential AIC designation; New England state experience is a plus. You will evaluate claims, negotiate settlements, and maintain detailed claim files.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in property and casualty claims handling.
• AIC designation or progress toward is preferred.
• Experience handling New England state claims preferred.

Responsabilités

• Manages an inventory of claims to evaluate compensability/liability.
• Plans and conducts claim investigations to confirm coverage and determine liability, compensability and damages.
• Determines and negotiates appropriate claim settlements/reserves within prescribed authority.
• May attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
• Conveys complex information regarding coverage and settlements to insureds, claimants, and external partners.
• Authorizes payments within authority and ensures timely payments.
• Maintains accurate and detailed claim files including correspondence and settlement agreements.
