General Notes

As part of UT Dell Medical School’s transformation into a world‑class academic health enterprise, we are launching an Enterprise Human Capital Management (HCM) transformation centered on Workday, beginning in Fall 2026. To support this implementation, we are recruiting HR and technology professionals who will help design, implement, and optimize Workday. This is a unique opportunity to build the foundational HR technology platform that will support the future University of Texas Dell Medical Center and the broader academic health enterprise.

We are hiring two Senior Workday Analysts through this posting, with each position supporting a different functional area of the Workday implementation:

  • HCM-focused position: Core HCM and related functionality, including organizational/job structures, staffing, recruiting, compensation/merit, performance, and other employee lifecycle processes.
  • Payroll-focused position: Workday Payroll configuration and related functionality, including payroll calculations, earnings/deductions, tax, payroll accounting, testing, and integration touchpoints with Time, Absence, Benefits, and other systems.

Both positions will work closely with business owners, technical teams, and implementation partners to configure and implement the new Workday environment through testing, go‑live, and post‑implementation support.

Purpose

The Senior Workday Analyst provides advanced application configuration, optimization, and support for the organization’s Workday HCM transformation. This role partners with HR, Payroll, business stakeholders, technical teams, and implementation partners to translate functional requirements into Workday configuration and support successful implementation, testing, go‑live, and ongoing optimization.

The two positions hired through this posting will provide senior functional expertise in either Workday HCM or Workday Payroll, based on the selected candidate’s experience and area of specialization.

  • Support the transition from implementation through go‑live and ongoing production support.

System Configuration and Optimization

  • Perform advanced Workday configuration to support business workflows and functional requirements.
  • Partner with business owners and implementation teams to translate current and future‑state processes into scalable Workday solutions.

  • Contribute to application roadmapping and prioritization of enhancements to align with organizational strategy.
  • Participate in major implementation, enhancement, and upgrade activities by managing configuration and validation tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with security and organizational standards during system changes.

  • Participate in the Workday implementation lifecycle, including requirements, configuration, testing, go‑live, and post‑implementation stabilization.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for complex system changes.
  • Support functional, end‑to‑end, user acceptance, and other applicable testing activities.
  • For the Payroll‑focused position, support payroll testing activities including payroll calculation validation and parallel testing as applicable.
  • Coordinate go‑live activities and ensure successful post‑implementation support.
  • Engage stakeholders throughout project phases to validate requirements and deliverables.
