Senior Workday HRIS Analyst – HCM Multi-Module
Help shape how Workday supports a global workforce.
We’re looking for a Senior Workday HRIS Analyst with strong functional and configuration expertise across multiple Workday HCM modules. This is a key role within the HRIS organization, partnering with HR Centers of Excellence, HR Operations, Payroll, and business stakeholders to design scalable solutions that improve processes and the employee experience.
You’ll bring a design-first mindset to Workday—looking beyond legacy processes and configurations to understand the business need, challenge assumptions, and recommend solutions aligned with Workday best practices.
This role works closely with HR and HRIS teams across the U.S., India, Canada, the UK, Malta, Australia, and New Zealand, making strong communication, collaboration, and global stakeholder management essential.
What You'll Do
Functional Partnership & Solution Design
- Partner with HR COEs and business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements.
- Translate business needs into functional designs and Workday configuration strategies.
- Lead working sessions and constructively challenge legacy processes and assumptions.
- Recommend scalable, sustainable solutions aligned with Workday best practices.
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce manual work, and improve the employee and manager experience.
- Serve as a subject matter expert across multiple Workday functional areas.
Workday Configuration & Optimization
- Configure and maintain business processes, calculated fields, condition rules, validations, notifications, and related Workday functionality.
- Support system enhancements, regulatory changes, and optimization initiatives.
- Evaluate and implement new Workday functionality and biannual releases.
- Ensure configurations follow enterprise governance standards and minimize technical debt.
- Support continuous improvement and global Workday design initiatives.
Testing & Production Support
- Develop and execute unit, regression, and UAT testing.
- Create test cases, validate results, and ensure system stability and data accuracy.
- Partner with integration, payroll, and other technical teams on end-to-end testing.
- Support production validation, deployments, and post-release hypercare.
- Troubleshoot complex issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive issues through resolution.
- Collaborate with HRIS analysts, integration developers, HR teams, and global stakeholders.
- Promote consistent configuration and design standards across Workday modules.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior HRIS analysts.
- Contribute to HR technology transformation, process redesign, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- 5–8+ years of HRIS experience with strong hands-on Workday configuration expertise.
- Deep experience with Workday HCM Core, Compensation, and Talent.
- Experience gathering requirements and translating them into Workday configuration and functional designs.
- Demonstrated ability to design and configure complex Workday business processes.
- Strong testing discipline across unit, regression, and UAT.
- Experience supporting Workday biannual releases.
- Ability to evaluate current-state processes and recommend scalable future-state solutions.
- Strong understanding of Workday business processes, configuration, data integrity, and security concepts.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Experience
- Additional Workday experience in Global Payroll, Time & Absence, Recruiting, or Learning.
- Experience supporting global HR teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with HR practices and regulatory considerations across India, Canada, the UK, Malta, Australia, and New Zealand.
- Experience in large, matrixed enterprise environments.
- Background in HR transformation, process redesign, or Workday optimization.
- Workday certification in one or more functional areas.
What Will Make You Successful
- A design-first, future-focused approach rather than simply replicating legacy processes.
- Strong stakeholder management and consulting skills.
- Ability to explain complex Workday functionality in clear, business-friendly language.
- Confidence facilitating requirements sessions and constructively challenging assumptions.
- Strong attention to detail and execution discipline.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cultures, functions, and time zones.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ability to balance immediate business needs with long-term scalability and maintainability.
Work Schedule
- Must be available for regular collaboration with U.S. teams, with working-hour overlap through approximately 12:00 PM Eastern Time.
- Flexibility may be required to support critical deployments, releases, or production issues.
If you’re an experienced Workday professional who enjoys solving complex business problems, designing scalable solutions, and partnering with stakeholders to get the most out of Workday, we’d love to hear from you.
