Job summary

Our client seeks a Senior Women’s Technical Outerwear Designer with 7+ years of women’s outerwear design experience, especially in performance, outdoor and technical apparel. The role requires translating concepts into technically sound jackets and owning the full lifecycle from concept through production.

The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of jacket engineering, construction, materials and cost engineering, with a proven portfolio.

Qualifications

7+ years of hands-on Women’s Outerwear design experience.
Strong jacket engineering and construction knowledge.
Ability to merge technical functionality with feminine design and commercial appeal.
Hands-on AI proficiency for design, research and development.
Portfolio demonstrating technical construction, fit and production readiness.
Experience with cost engineering and working with manufacturing partners.

Responsibilities

Own the creative direction of Women’s technical and performance outerwear categories.
Produce technical drawings, detailed tech packs and garment construction details.
Select and apply appropriate outerwear materials, insulation systems and trims.
Develop silhouettes balancing fit, proportion and technical performance.
Monitor marketplace trends and translate insights into new designs.
Collaborate with Production and overseas factories on costing and cost optimization.
Find cost efficiencies while maintaining product quality and performance.
Incorporate AI into the design and development process for concept creation and visualization.
Research new AI design technologies to enhance the workflow.
Maintain ongoing communication with Merchandising and factories throughout lifecycle.
