Job summary

Amazon Science seeks a Communication Systems Research Scientist to own RRM and radio access design for a 3GPP NTN-based D2D system. You will address beam management, large-cell, Doppler challenges and integration with 5GC/EPC, RRC/NAS, and cross-domain testing.

You will build simulators, collaborate with modem, payload, RF and testbed teams, and contribute to standards and publications while leading innovative research in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in wireless engineering.
• 7+ years of professional experience in wireless communications at system or implementation level.
• Experience in radio resource management for 3GPP (LTE/NR/NTN) with MAC scheduling, mobility or QoS.

Responsibilities

• Research, design and specify RRM algorithms for 3GPP-based D2D systems.
• Treat beam management as part of joint resource optimization for MU-MIMO.
• Define NTN RRM framework with large time-varying delay and Doppler considerations.
• Design mobility and service continuity for satellite-based networks.
• Develop simulators capturing constellation dynamics and use agentic AI for optimization.
