Job summary

Intuitive is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer specialized in wire stranded and braided cables for our Sunnyvale manufacturing team. You will lead equipment and process development for high-volume automated assembly lines, define line specifications, and collaborate with machine integrators and cross-functional partners to ensure robust, scalable manufacturing.

Qualifications

• BSME or equivalent required; MSME preferred.
• 7+ years of mechanical or manufacturing engineering experience.
• Wire/cable product experience highly preferred.
• Preference for fine gauge stainless steel and tungsten wire.
• ISO 9001/13485 experience in medical device manufacturing.
• Willingness to travel 10–30% to Mexico facility and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Lead stranded and braided wire cable development to improve manufacturing processes.
• Develop equipment and processes for high-volume automated assembly lines.
• Create line specifications; interface with machine integrators and cross-functional partners.
• Provide on-site and remote support during commissioning.
• Lead IQ/OQ/PQ/PPQ protocols for high-volume automation.
• Drive continuous improvement to yield, cycle time, cost, and reliability.
• Collaborate with design engineers on automation and reliability.
• Maintain BOMs and manufacturing documents.
• Perform PFMEA risk analyses on lines.
