Job summary

Intuitive in Sunnyvale is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for Wire Harness Design to develop medical capital equipment components for volume manufacturing. You will lead interfacing with electrical, systems, manufacturing, and procurement teams to document harness designs and verify electrical performance.

This role emphasizes first-principles design, DFM, reliability testing, and collaboration in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
5+ years of structured mechanical design experience in regulated industries (medical device, aerospace, etc.).
Strong knowledge of design controls, risk management, verification, and change control.

Responsibilities

Design interfacing cabling and wiring harnesses with mechanical teams.
Author and release harness design documentation (drawings, schematics, routing diagrams).
Perform electrical analysis including wire sizing, voltage drop, shield grounding.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define design requirements.
Design for manufacturability, reliability, serviceability, and cost.
Manage prototype vendors and support product transfer to manufacturing.
Develop and conduct component verification and product validation testing.
Support manufacturing, materials, test engineering and service teams.
