Job summary

Intuitive in Sunnyvale, CA, is seeking a senior design/manufacturing/equipment engineer to lead automation for high-volume assembly lines used in robotic surgery instruments. This onsite role requires hands-on device experience, cross-functional collaboration, and a focus on reliability, maintainability, and process validation.

You will specify equipment, manage suppliers, develop IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, perform DFx, and mentor technicians while supporting continuous improvement and inter-site

Qualifications

• Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with electro-mechanical/laser/vision system equipment troubleshooting.
• Experience with automated line controls (PLC, I/O) and motion/vision control.
• CAD proficiency and reading blueprints; GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Experience managing product/process changes and executing equipment validation.
• ISO 13485/9001 medical device manufacturing environment experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, evaluation, and maintenance of high-volume automated assembly lines.
• Lead automation line specifications and manage suppliers/integrators through FAT/SAT.
• Create and manage fixtures, tools, and equipment; ensure uptime.
• Develop IQ/OQ/DQ/PQ/PPQ validation protocols for equipment and lines.
• Provide DFx input to design teams and drive standardization across hardware.
• Support inter-site collaboration and periodic travel; mentor technicians and engineers.
