Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Wire Harness Design Engineer in Austin, TX to develop critical power, digital, analog, and RF interconnects for satellites and aerospace systems. You will own harness designs, create schematics, routing, connectors, and assembly drawings while collaborating with engineers and technicians to deliver reliable space-grade wiring solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
5+ years of relevant industry or university research experience.
Proficiency with wire harness design tools such as RapidHarness.
Strong knowledge of wire routing, controlled impedance, shielding, and EMC considerations.
Ability to analyze and test harness designs to meet standards and performance requirements.
Familiarity with IPC-WHMA-A-620 and ISO 9001.
Experience with oscillosopes, spectrum analyzers, and electronic loads.
Detail-oriented with precise design documentation.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Aerospace industry experience.

Responsibilities

Lead the full harness design process from specs to integration and test.
Develop schematics, cable routing, connector selection, and harness drawings.
Collaborate with electrical/mechanical engineers and technicians.
