Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Wire Harness Design Engineer to design the critical power, digital, analog, and RF interconnects for space hardware. You will own harness designs from schematic development to harness drawings, collaborating with electrical and mechanical engineers and harness technicians.

You will guide the full design process from specifications through integration and test, and participate in design reviews to improve performance and reliability of wire harness systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 5 years of relevant industry or university research experience.
• Proficiency in harness design tools such as RapidHarness.
• Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, wire routing, controlled impedance, cable shielding, and EMC considerations.
• Ability to conduct thorough analysis and testing of wire harness designs to ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, safety regulations, and performance requirements.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to wire harness design, such as IPC-WHMA-A-620 and ISO 9001.
• Extensive hands‑on experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and electronic loads.
• Detail‑oriented approach with a high level of accuracy in design documentation and technical specifications.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Aerospace industry experience.
