Job summary

CesiumAstro, a leader in out-of-the-box communication hardware for satellites, seeks a Senior Wire Harness Design Engineer. You will own harness designs from schematic to drawings, coordinating with electrical, mechanical, and harness technicians to deliver integrated space systems.

Required are a BS in Electrical Engineering, 5 years of related experience, and hands-on lab skills with oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5 years of relevant industry or university research experience.
• Proficiency with harness design tools such as RapidHarness.
• Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, wire routing, controlled impedance, cable shielding, EMC considerations.
• Ability to conduct thorough analysis and testing to comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Knowledge of IPC-WHMA-A-620 and ISO 9001 standards; hands-on lab instrument experience (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, electronic loads).

Responsibilities

• Own wire harness designs from schematic development to harness assembly drawings.
• Develop cable routing, connector selection, and harness documentation.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and harness assembly teams to deliver spacecraft and aerospace wiring systems.
• Participate in design reviews, providing recommendations to improve performance and reliability.
