Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Wire Harness Design Engineer to own power, digital, analog, and RF interconnect harness development for space and aerospace systems. You will lead schematic development, cable routing, connector selection, and harness drawings in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary team.

The role covers the full design process from defining specifications to integration and test, with participation in design reviews to enhance performance, reliability, and testability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 5 years of relevant industry or university research experience.
• Proficiency in harness design tools such as RapidHarness.
• Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, wire routing, controlled impedance, cable shielding, and EMC considerations.
• Ability to conduct thorough analysis and testing of wire harness designs to ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, safety regulations, and performance requirements.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to wire harness design, such as IPC-WHMA-A-620 and ISO 9001.
• Extensive hands-on experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and electronic loads.
• Detail-oriented approach with a high level of accuracy in design documentation and technical specifications.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Aerospace industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Own wire harness design from specifications through integration and test.
• Develop schematics, cable routing, connector selection and harness drawings.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and harness assembly teams to develop space and aerospace harnesses.
• Conduct analysis and testing to ensure compliance with industry standards and performance requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, providing technical expertise to enhance reliability.
