Job summary

CesiumAstro in Westminster, Colorado, is seeking a Staff Wire Harness Design Engineer to own the full wire harness design process from schematic development to harness assembly drawings. The role works closely with electrical and mechanical engineers and technicians to deliver space-qualified interconnects.

The candidate will manage design reviews, ensure EMI/EMC and impedance control, and collaborate with suppliers to meet performance and reliability targets for space and airborne systems.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 8 years of relevant industry or university research experience.
• Proficiency with harness design tools Capital Essentials or Zuken E3.
• Solid understanding of wire routing, controlled impedance, shielding, EMC considerations.
• Experience with space-grade connectors and aerospace standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-complexity wire harnesses for space and airborne systems.
• Define harness requirements, ensure EMI/EMC and radiation tolerance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to align with system requirements.
• Lead supplier interactions and harness assembly reviews.
• Own design reviews and contribute to process improvements.
