Job summary

Speechify is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for Windows/Desktop Applications in Cary, NC, USA. You will lead design and development of native Windows desktop apps, ensure performance, accessibility, and cross-version compatibility, and collaborate with product, UX, and QA teams to shape the Windows platform roadmap.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and own end-to-end features for a polished, accessible user experience for millions of users.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop application development with Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML
• Experience with native Windows code (C++, Win32/WinRT/COM) is a plus
• Strong understanding of Windows architecture and interop between managed and native code
• Experience designing, building, shipping production desktop apps with focus on reliability and performance
• Strong accessibility knowledge on Windows and inclusive software development

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK and WinUI
• Define and enforce best practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase
• Drive accessibility efforts and ensure keyboard navigation, screen-reader support and accessibility APIs work well
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and stakeholders to shape feature planning and long-term roadmap
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, and memory issues
