Job summary

Speechify is seeking a senior Windows desktop application engineer to own the architecture, design, and delivery of our Windows platform across WinUI and native components. You will collaborate with product and QA to shape features and long-term roadmaps, while ensuring performance, accessibility, and reliability.

You will drive the full lifecycle of features, mentor engineers, and contribute to a scalable, inclusive desktop experience used by millions of users.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop application development using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML; experience with native Windows code (C++/Win32/WinRT) preferred.
• Deep understanding of Windows app architecture and interop between managed and native code.
• Proven track record delivering production-quality desktop applications with focus on reliability, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Strong accessibility knowledge and commitment to inclusive software.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and C++ where needed.
• Define and enforce best practices for code architecture, performance, memory usage, responsive UI, and cross-version compatibility.
• Drive accessibility efforts across the UI, ensuring keyboard navigation, screen readers, and inclusive controls.
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and stakeholders to plan features and long-term roadmap for Windows platform.
• Own full lifecycle of features from conception to maintenance and ensure high quality across releases.
• Identify and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, and memory or rendering issues with robust solutions.
