Job summary

Speechify seeks a seasoned Windows desktop engineer to design, implement, and maintain native Windows applications using Windows App SDK and WinUI. You will own feature development from concept through release and maintenance, collaborating with designers, QA, and product teams to deliver high-quality, accessible software.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop app development using Windows App SDK and WinUI
• Strong understanding of interop between managed and native code
• Proven track record shipping production-quality desktop applications with emphasis on reliability and performance

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML and C++ as needed
• Define and enforce best practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase
• Drive accessibility efforts to ensure UI accessibility, keyboard navigation, screen-reader support
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA and stakeholders on feature planning and roadmap
• Own full lifecycle of features from conception to release and maintenance
• Identify and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, rendering issues and cross-version compatibility
