Job summary

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is seeking a Lead Wind Farm Service Technician for our Minonk, IL wind farm. The role involves advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems, with leadership over daily field operations.

You will mentor junior technicians, provide remote and onsite support, and ensure safety and quality standards while maintaining operational readiness and service quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Wind Technician or in a comparable technical service role.
• Strong experience troubleshooting wind turbine electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems.
• Knowledge of SCADA systems and wind turbine operations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead field activities and coordinate service operations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex faults on wind turbine electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, component replacements, system integration, and commissioning.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support to customers remotely and onsite.
• Lead daily service operations, delegate tasks, and review field work.
• Complete detailed service reports and technical documentation.
