Job summary

DNV Energy Systems seeks a Senior Renewable Energy Analytics & Performance Lead for the Wind Energy Assessment team. You will drive advanced analytics, automate assessment workflows, and process large data sets to support critical project decisions across the U.S. and Canada.

You will mentor analysts, improve methodologies, and deliver pre-construction and operational assessments, SCADA analytics, and wind resource characterization in a dynamic hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in meteorology, atmospheric science, engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, data science, renewable energy, environmental science, or related field.
• Seven years of directly relevant professional experience in renewable energy, engineering consulting, atmospheric science, software development, analytics, or related technical field.
• Understanding of wind turbine sub-systems (pitch, yaw, gearboxes, generators, towers) and core SCADA/control integration.
• Demonstrated experience performing wind resource assessments and energy production assessments for utility-scale wind projects.
• Strong programming experience using Python, MATLAB, R, or similar languages for data processing, automation, and analytical workflow development.
• Strong written and verbal communication English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze turbine and wind plant SCADA data to track power curves, evaluate energy yield, identify lost production, diagnose faults.
• Lead wind resource and energy assessments for utility-scale wind projects across development, financing, construction, and operations.
• Perform advanced analysis of meteorological, reanalysis, operational, SCADA, remote sensing, and geospatial datasets to develop production estimates and uncertainty assessments.
• Contribute technical expertise to pre-construction energy assessments, independent engineer assignments, and due diligence reviews.
• Evaluate project performance, uncertainties, losses, and risk factors using industry-standard methodologies.
• Prepare and review technical reports, presentations, and customer-facing deliverables.
• Build trusted customer relationships and participate in technical discussions for informed outcomes.
• Design, maintain, and enhance analytical tools, scripts, and automated workflows.
