The role focuses on wetland delineation, wildlife habitat evaluations, rare species surveys, and construction monitoring, with emphasis on fieldwork, reporting, and regulatory coordination for residential, commercial, municipal, and energy projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Wetland Science, or related field.
• 5–10 years of environmental consulting experience.
• Experience with MA wetland regulations; familiarity with New England states preferred.
• Ability to conduct wetland delineations and environmental field investigations independently.
• Strong communication and client interaction skills.

Join a Growing Team as a Senior Wetland Scientist! Are you passionate about protecting and restoring natural ecosystems? We are seeking an experienced and motivated Wetland Scientist with 5–10 years of experience to join their growing team and support a diverse range of environmental permitting and natural resource projects throughout New England.

This is an exciting opportunity for a professional looking to play a key role in wetland delineation, wildlife habitat evaluations, rare species surveys, environmental permitting, and construction monitoring while collaborating with clients and project teams on a variety of residential, commercial, municipal, transportation, railroad, and renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will enjoy a mix of fieldwork, technical reporting, client interaction, and regulatory coordination.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct wetland delineations, wildlife habitat evaluations, and rare species surveys
• Develop permit strategies with project teams for projects across various market sectors
• Conduct federal, state, and local wetland-related permitting efforts
• Develop and/or review technical reports, permit applications, and environmental documentation
• Perform construction oversight and environmental monitoring
• Coordinate with clients, project teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout project lifecycles
• Independently delineate wetland resource areas and conduct environmental field investigations
• Support environmental science aspects of residential, commercial, municipal, railroad, roadway, and renewable energy projects
• Develop and prepare project maps using GIS
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects while meeting short deadlines
• Collaborate with team members while working independently on assigned projects

Qualifications:

We’re seeking a motivated environmental professional with strong technical expertise in wetland science and environmental permitting. Ideal candidates will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Wetland Science, or a related field
• 5–10 years of experience in environmental consulting, wetland science, natural resources, or related environmental services
• Demonstrated experience with local, state, and federal wetland regulations in Massachusetts
• Experience in other New England states is preferred
• Ability to independently conduct wetland delineations and environmental field investigations
• Strong knowledge of wetland resource areas and environmental permitting processes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects on short deadlines
• Strong client interaction and communication skills
• Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
• Expertise in identifying plants, insects, birds, reptiles, and/or amphibians
• WPIT required; PWS Certification preferred
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification
• Certified Wetland Scientist (CWS)
• Registered Professional Soil Scientist (RPSS)
• Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC)
• Rare species survey and permitting experience
• Wildlife habitat evaluation experience
• Experience with environmental regulations and permitting requirements in other New England states
• Ability to use GIS and create project maps
• Experience with construction oversight and environmental monitoring

Pay Range: $95,000 – $140,000 annually, commensurate with experience
