Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a full-time Wetland Ecologist for the North Mountain Environmental Impact Assessment and Permitting group. The role involves leading wetland delineation and permitting across multiple states and supporting wildlife and botanical surveys.

Strong independence and team collaboration are essential, with travel across the region. Qualified candidates will have 3–5+ years of field experience, familiarity with USACE protocols, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field.
  • 3–5+ years field experience leading aquatic resource delineation.
  • 3–5+ years of prior consulting in linear corridor projects (pipelines or transmission).
  • Familiarity with USACE protocols and state survey requirements for aquatic resources.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and professionalism.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work remotely or in small survey teams and travel regionally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead wetland field delineation and permitting efforts across the North Mountain Region.
  • Support and build environmental project teams for transmission lines, renewables, and pipelines.
  • Assist with biological surveys including rare plants and threatened species.
  • Serve as lead wetland ecologist for federal NEPA and state permitting requirements.
  • Uphold WSP health, safety, and conduct policies while performing field work.
