WSP is seeking a full-time wetland ecologist to join the Earth and Environment Sector – North Mountain Environmental Impact Assessment and Permitting group, serving the North Mountain region and states including Wyoming. The position emphasizes independent work, teamwork, and a history of wetland surveys and permitting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or related field.
• 3–5+ years field experience leading and permitting aquatic resource delineation.
• 3–5+ years consulting, ideally with linear corridor projects.
• Familiarity with USACE protocols and state survey requirements for aquatic resources.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication; ability to work remotely or in small teams.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Willing to travel regionally and nationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead wetland field delineation and permitting across the North Mountain Region.
• Support biological field surveys, including rare plants and wildlife.
• Serve as lead wetland ecologist for NEPA and state permitting.
• Collaborate with team and ensure safety and compliance.
• Communicate effectively during field work and in team settings.
