Job summary

WSP is seeking a full-time wetland ecologist to join the Earth and Environment Sector’s North Mountain team, covering MT, WY, CO, UT, ID, OR, WA, and beyond. The role emphasizes independent work within a collaborative field team to complete wetland surveys and associated permitting.

Your impact includes leading wetland delineation across the region, supporting wildlife and botanical surveys, and handling NEPA or state permitting tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or related field.
  • 3–5+ years of field experience leading aquatic resource delineation efforts.
  • 3–5+ years of consulting work, ideally with linear corridor projects.
  • Familiarity with USACE protocols and state survey requirements for aquatic resources.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead wetland field delineation and permitting efforts across the North Mountain Region.
  • Support biological field surveys including rare plants and wildlife species.
  • Serve as lead ecologist for NEPA and state permitting requirements.
  • Collaborate with environmental project teams on transmission, energy, and infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure compliance with WSP’s health, safety, and conduct policies.
