Job summary

WSP seeks a full-time wetlands ecologist to lead field delineations and permitting across the North Mountain Region (UT, CO, ID, MT, WA, WY, OR). You will work independently and with a team to support NEPA analyses and state permitting requirements.

Candidates should have 5+ years of field and consulting experience, USACE familiarity, and strong communication. Willingness to travel regionally and across the U.S. is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or related field.
• 5+ years of field experience leading and permitting aquatic resource delineation.
• 5+ years of consulting experience, preferably with linear corridor projects such as pipelines or electric transmission.
• Familiarity with USACE protocols and state survey requirements for aquatic resources.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to travel regionally and across the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead wetland field delineation and permitting efforts across the North Mountain Region (MT, WY, CO, UT, ID, WA, OR).
• Support biological field surveys including rare plants and wildlife species.
• Coordinate with permitting teams to meet federal NEPA and state requirements.
• Manage field surveys in remote conditions and collaborate with a larger project team.
• Uphold WSP’s Code of Conduct and health/safety policies.
