Job summary

WSP is seeking a full-time wetland ecologist for the Earth and Environment Sector’s North Mountain Environmental Impact Assessment and Permitting group, serving the North Mountain region across UT, CO, ID, MT, WA, WY, and OR. The role emphasizes field surveys, permitting, and collaboration with a larger team.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of field and permitting experience, familiarity with USACE processes, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or related field.
• 5+ years of field experience leading aquatic resource delineation and permitting.
• 5+ years of consulting experience, preferably on linear corridor projects.
• Familiarity with USACE protocols and state survey requirements for aquatic resources.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead wetland field delineation and permitting efforts across the North Mountain Region and neighboring states.
• Support biological field surveys including rare plants and threatened species.
• Coordinate with project teams for NEPA analyses and permitting.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies and quality standards during field activities.
