Job summary

YMCA of Northwest North Carolina seeks a Senior Wellness Experience Director to guide branch membership efforts through wellness initiatives. This role emphasizes retention, exceptional service, and growth, with a focus on developing staff and delivering an outstanding member experience.

The position requires strong leadership, communication, and project management skills, plus certifications in health/wellness. Supervisory duties cover scheduling, payroll, and staff development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or related experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or related field preferred.
• One or more nationally recognized Personal Training or Coaching certifications required.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and Oxygen certifications or willingness to obtain within 30 days.
• Experience supervising other wellness professionals.

Responsibilities

• Execute association-wide and branch-specific membership strategies to boost retention and growth.
• Direct supervision of Wellness staff, including scheduling and payroll.
• Lead wellness team; recruit, hire, train, and coach staff daily.
• Manage budgets and fiscal plans within area of responsibility.
• Engage and develop members through programming and outreach.
• Ensure strong onboarding and social support for members.
