Job summary

The YMCA of Western North Carolina is seeking a Senior Executive Director of Wellness to lead the association’s wellness strategy, programs, and growth. Based in Asheville, NC, this role drives innovation, quality, and engagement across multiple centers while aligning with the mission of healthy living and youth development.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and at least five years of leadership in wellness or related fields, with demonstrated budgeting experience and the ability to grow

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in health and wellness, exercise science, business, nonprofit leadership, or a related field.
• Five+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in wellness, fitness, health, recreation, or a related field.
• Experience developing and managing budgets and achieving revenue and expense targets.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for wellness programming and Healthy Living.
• Develop and execute a forward-looking wellness strategy to grow participation and revenue.
• Lead data-driven program quality, standards, and cross-site collaboration.
• Oversee budgeting, KPIs, and resource allocation to support growth.
• Build and develop wellness staff through coaching and succession planning.
