Placements24 is seeking a Well Completion Design Engineer for our client in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will design completion systems tailored to reservoir characteristics, select equipment, and develop installation procedures while ensuring integrity throughout the well's life.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement and the chance to contribute to challenging drilling and production projects within a collaborative, growth‑oriented team in upstream oil and gas.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in well completion design and execution.
• Strong understanding of wellbore mechanics, fluid flow, and reservoir principles.
• Proficiency with completion design software and simulation tools.
• Familiarity with open hole, cased hole, and multilateral completions.

Responsibilities

• Design well completion systems tailored to reservoir characteristics and objectives.
• Select completion equipment including liners, screens, packers, and artificial lift.
• Develop detailed completion programs for installation, testing, and lift deployment.
• Perform analyses for wellbore stability, sand control, and zonal isolation.
• Collaborate with reservoir, drilling, and production engineers to optimize designs.
• Ensure designs comply with standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare material take-offs and support procurement for completion equipment.
• Troubleshoot completion-related issues during drilling, workover, or production.
• Review performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
