Placements24 is seeking a Senior Production Engineer for our client in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The role focuses on maximizing hydrocarbon recovery, optimizing artificial lift, and ensuring safe, cost-effective operations of production facilities.

This field-centric position demands strong analytical skills and practical problem solving in upstream petroleum. Responsibilities include well performance analysis, project design, forecasting, economic evaluations, and mentoring junior engineers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering required.
• 7+ years in production engineering in oil & gas.
• Experience with artificial lift design and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Monitor well and facility production to identify improvements.
• Optimize artificial lift systems (ESPs, rod pumps, gas lift).
• Troubleshoot production issues including wellbore problems.
• Design and implement production enhancement projects.
• Forecast production and assist reserve estimation.
• Perform economic evaluations for optimization proposals.
• Collaborate with reservoir, drilling, and facility engineers.
• Ensure adherence to safety, health and environmental regs.
• Prepare technical reports and project documentation.
• Mentor junior production engineers.
