Job summary

Sterling Industrial is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to perform field inspections of boilers, pressure vessels, and piping, ensuring compliance with AWS, ASME, and National Board standards. The role requires coordinating with union crafts and plant personnel during outages and maintaining detailed inspection records.

The candidate will lead welding tests, update qualifications, and develop repair plans while ensuring safety, quality, and traceability.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Interpreting AWS, ASME, NBIC codes and applying them to field applications.
• Performing inspections of boilers, pressure vessels, power piping and structural steel.
• Giving weld tests to crafts people for certifications and updating welder qualification records.
• Constructing repair plans and directing boilermakers and steamfitters.
• Coordinating with union crafts, plant personnel, and inspection companies during outages.
• Providing trace-ability of all welding during repairs and maintaining QA standards.
