Job summary

TPI Staffing, Inc. is seeking a Welder for a temp-to-hire position in Katy, TX. Pay ranges from $28.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on weld test results. First shift runs 6:00 a.m. to Thursday, 10-hour days, with potential overtime on Fridays.

The role requires passing a 6G MIG test, working toward a 6G TIG, and strong ability to read shop drawings. Candidates should have 4+ years in welding and related training.

Qualifications

• Completion of at least 1-year formal apprenticeship or 2-year welding program.
• At least 4 years' welding experience with minimal absence.
• Must pass 6G MIG weld test; working toward 6G TIG.
• Advanced understanding of shop drawings and interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Complete tasks as assigned by supervisor or lead welder.
• Fabricate or prepare parts by grinding, cutting, tacking, or welding.
• Fit-up and weld parts within standard time frame.
• Produce clean welds with minimal grinding or buffing.
• Train and mentor new employees in product assembly.
• Accurately fills out timecards and job assignments.
• Keep work area clean and tools properly stored.
• Follow project changes as directed by supervisors.
