Job summary

Alta Planning + Design seeks a Web and Digital Studio Lead to guide the digital studio and deliver complex websites, data-driven tools, and marketing tech solutions. This hands-on leader will shape digital work across the firm and mentor a multidisciplinary team.

The role combines technical leadership, project delivery, and strategic development across GIS, APIs, automation, and data visualization, with opportunities to strengthen Alta’s digital portfolio.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional full-stack web development experience with leadership.
• Experience leading complex web/digital projects from scoping to deployment.
• Experience overseeing contractors or vendors.
• Strong VS Code, Git/GitHub, Docker, CI/CD proficiency.
• Expert JS/TS stack knowledge and modern front-end frameworks.
• Python with FastAPI or Django; GIS/web mapping experience welcome.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-stack development of websites, dashboards, and data-driven tools.
• Establish technical architecture across front-end/back-end, APIs, data integration.
• Create interactive data visuals; integrate GIS data and mapping platforms.
• Coordinate Python-based data processing and automation; manage external integrations.
• Ensure WCAG accessibility and lead QA/QC for deliverables.
• Mentor Digital Studio team and oversee contractors; manage budgets and scope.
