Job summary

Alta Planning + Design seeks a Web and Digital Studio Lead (Associate I) to guide a multidisciplinary team and deliver complex digital products, including websites, web apps, data tools, and integrations.

You will shape digital practice, elevating standards, architectures, and reusable components while collaborating with marketing, GIS, and engineering staff. A hybrid schedule is offered with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of full‑stack web development with leadership of complex projects.
• Experience overseeing technical contractors or vendors.
• Expert with VS Code, Git/GitHub, Docker, WSL or macOS, CI/CD workflows.
• Advanced front‑end: JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, CSS/SASS, Vue/ Nuxt/ Astro/ Vite.
• Python with FastAPI or Django; PHP is a plus.
• GIS web mapping (ArcGIS, Mapbox) and data viz with Tableau.
• Experience with Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud; strong client communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead full‑stack development of websites, apps, dashboards, and data tools.
• Set technical architecture across front‑ and back‑end, APIs, data integration.
• Build interactive visualizations by geography/time/demographics.
• Integrate GIS data and mapping platforms into web products.
• Coordinate Python data workflows and APIs; oversee external integrations.
• Manage accessibility, QA/QC, and code quality across deliverables.
• Provide technical direction and mentor the Digital Studio team.
