Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) seeks a Special Facilities and Equipment Portfolio Manager to lead the HE&E facilities portfolio. You will drive investment planning, oversee refurbishment and modernization, and collaborate with facility reps and experts to align with mission priorities.

The role requires DOE Q or Top Secret clearance, a STEM degree, and substantial portfolio management experience. On‑site work is required with travel as needed across sites and departments.

Qualifications

• Requires active DOE Q‑level or Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
• Significant experience managing facilities, equipment projects, or technical portfolios
• Ability to lead strategic planning and manage complex projects or portfolios
• Strong independent work, judgement, and collaboration across organizations

Responsibilities

• Provide management and technical oversight of the HE&E special facilities and equipment portfolio.
• Exercise independent judgement in planning, prioritization, and execution of portfolio activities.
• Lead strategic planning for high explosives equipment and facility refurbishment investments.
• Partner with facility and program representatives and subject matter experts to align priorities with mission objectives.
• Chair and facilitate multidisciplinary technical review committees for HE&E facilities and equipment projects.
• Maintain and update internal and external real property and programmatic equipment databases.
• Respond to data calls from NNSA headquarters and Laboratory Infrastructure.
• Support technical projects at S200 and S300 locations, ensuring standards compliance.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to support informed decision‑making and portfolio execution.
• Improve program workflow organization and efficiency with forward‑thinking solutions.
• Travel to other NNSA and Department of War sites as needed.
