Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Staff Flight Test Engineer – Weapons Lead to drive weapon-system test efforts at Edwards AFB, CA. You will coordinate test planning, execution, data analysis, and act as a senior liaison among design engineering, maintenance, test operations, and customer representatives.

The role requires a BS in a STEM field with 12+ years (or MS with 10+ years), active DoD Secret clearance, and ability to obtain SAP clearance.

Qualifications

• BS in STEM with 12+ years of relevant experience or MS with 10+ years of relevant experience
• Active DoD Secret clearance (with BI in past 6 years or Continuous Evaluation)
• Ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance
• Willingness to overtime, odd-hour shifts, and weekends
• Significant experience in flight test, weapon-system integration, mission systems, or military aircraft developmental test
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical efforts with minimal oversight and coordinate across teams

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of weapons integration test activity: research, requirements analysis, test design, data planning, execution oversight, and post-test evaluation
• Develop and direct comprehensive test plans, integrated test strategies, and schedules for complex weapon-system tests
• Serve as lead technical authority for weapon-system flight test execution and data requirements
• Review engineering artifacts (SRPs, ICDs, specifications) to ensure test completeness
• Provide real-time control room support and technical direction during ground and flight tests
• Mentor less-experienced engineers and contribute to technical capability growth
