Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems invites applications for a Staff Aeronautical Engineer to join a team of qualified professionals at Edwards AFB, CA. You will serve as the technical authority for integration and verification, building lab architectures from requirements and delivering data that informs design decisions.

The role requires an active Top Secret clearance and strong experience in test, software/system integration, and test procedure execution.

Qualifications

Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 12 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master's degree AND 10 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Ph.D. AND 8 years of related professional/military experience.
Must have an active US Government Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Top Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
In depth knowledge and experience of test experience, to include running checklists, radio communications, and working in a control room hierarchy, and control room monitoring.
Demonstrated technical writing skills
Experience in software/system integration, and software/system testing
Required to obtain engineering qualification and maintain currency with company and customer provided training requirements.
Experience with test, test equipment use and troubleshooting.
Experience creating, updating and executing test procedure

Responsibilities

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position.
Travel up to 25% may be required.
Available to work odd shifts to include nights and weekends
