Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Flight Test Engineer to join the Test and Evaluation organization at Edwards AFB, CA. The role is 100% on-site with responsibilities spanning test planning, data analysis, and cross-disciplinary coordination.

The candidate will interface with design teams, develop test plans, and support readiness reviews, while maintaining test metrics and ensuring safety and effectiveness in complex flight tests.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related professional/military experience, or a Master’s degree with 0 years of related experience.
• Must have an active US Government Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
• Must be able to obtain and maintain SAP clearance within a reasonable time as determined by business needs.

Responsibilities

• Interface with design and analysis teams to define test configuration and data requirements.
• Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure completeness of test program.
• Develop detailed test plans, safety plans, test schedules, and procedures for developmental testing.
• Provide control room support and make real-time decisions regarding safety, effectiveness and efficiency.
• Maintain metrics on status of testing and issues constraining test.
