Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an experienced Staff Flight Test Engineer – Weapons Lead to drive planning, execution, and integration of aircraft weapon-system tests at Edwards AFB, CA, coordinating across IPTs and a Combined Test Force.

The role requires advanced knowledge of weapon-system integration, SMS, SRE, MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760 and UAI, with the ability to liaise between design, maintenance, program leadership, and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a STEM field with 12+ years experience, or Master’s with 10+ years.
• Active DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain SAP).
• Willingness to work overtime, odd-hour shifts, and occasional weekends.
• Significant experience in flight test, weapon-system integration, mission systems, or military aircraft developmental test.
• Ability to lead complex technical efforts with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of weapons integration test activity, including design, data collection, execution oversight, and post-test evaluation.
• Direct preparation of test plans, strategies, procedures, and schedules for ground and flight tests.
• Serve as the lead technical authority for flight test execution and data requirements.
• Evaluate engineering artifacts to ensure test completeness and technical accuracy.
• Mentor less‑experienced engineers and contribute to technical capability growth.
