Job summary

AvonRisk is seeking a senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster III to lead the organization’s most complex, high-exposure claims, including catastrophic injuries and multi-party litigation. You will provide technical guidance, supervise backups, and serve as a senior resource for clients and carriers.

Responsibilities include directing litigation, managing reserves, coordinating medical management, and pursuing subrogation, while mentoring junior adjusters and maintaining professional client

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of WC claims experience with independent indemnity management.
• Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of WC indemnity experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of public entity liability claims and JPA/pooled arrangements.
• Active adjuster license in Arizona; multi-state preferred.
• CA SIP certificate for CA files; designations like AIC, ARM, WCCP, CPCU are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct complex investigations on high-exposure claims and provide strategic resolution plans.
• Lead medical management on catastrophic and high-cost claims and coordinate IMEs and life care planning.
• Lead PD rating on complex cases with apportionment and reserve management.
• Direct full litigation processes on the unit’s most complex files, including selecting defense counsel and preparing for trial.
• Negotiate high-value settlements and manage multi-lien resolutions; pursue subrogation opportunities.
• Mentor junior staff and serve as senior technical resource for clients and colleagues.
