Job summary

AvonRisk LLC in the United States seeks a Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster III to handle the organization’s most complex, high-exposure claims and provide technical guidance. You will supervise and back up the unit while serving as a senior resource for clients and carriers.

Responsibilities include directing complex investigations, medical management, PD rating, and high-value settlements, with emphasis on collaboration and quality outcomes. Remote or hybrid work arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of WC claims experience including at least 5 years of independent indemnity management with expertise in complex, high-exposure, and litigated files.
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of WC indemnity experience at an independent level; or equivalent.
• Comprehensive knowledge of public entity liability claims including JPAs, self-insured programs, and pooled insurance arrangements.
• Active adjuster license in applicable state(s); multi-state preferred.
• CA SIP certificate required for CA files. Professional designations such as AIC, ARM, WCCP, or CPCU a plus but not required.
• Deep expertise in applicable state WC statutes; multi-jurisdiction experience highly valued.
• Direct experience with claims administration platforms and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigation on complex, high-exposure workers’ compensation claims and develop action plans.
• Direct litigation management: select counsel, set strategy, manage spend, and prepare for trial.
• Negotiate and finalize high-value settlements; manage multi-lien resolution and subrogation.
• Provide technical backup and mentor Adjuster I/II colleagues; maintain client and carrier relationships.
• Lead complex PD ratings, reserving, and life-care planning coordination; ensure timely reporting.
