Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Workers Compensation Adjuster to manage moderate to complex and high‑value casualty claims with minimal supervision. You will apply advanced investigative and negotiation skills to resolve disputes and support litigation management.

In this remote-capable role, you will mentor junior claim handlers, coordinate with legal, underwriting, and vendors, and ensure regulatory compliance while maintaining thorough records and sound financial judgement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent experience.
• 5–10+ years of workers compensation claims handling experience with an insurance carrier.
• Licensed adjuster or able to obtain and maintain state licenses and CE credits.
• Strong negotiation and decision-making on high-exposure cases, including litigation and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage moderate to complex, high-value casualty claims with minimal supervision.
• Lead investigations, assess coverage, and issue reservation of rights and letters.
• Identify subrogation opportunities and negotiate to resolve disputes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain thorough records.
• Set reserves, authorize payments, and contribute to reserving accuracy.
• Coordinate with legal, underwriting, vendors, and agents; lead cross-functional meetings.
• Use analytics to identify trends and protect PII while improving efficiency.
• Mentor junior claim handlers and contribute to training and best practices.
