Job summary

Veolia in North America seeks a lead operator to manage and maintain water and wastewater treatment processes, ensuring regulatory compliance and high water quality. You will supervise a team, troubleshoot complex issues, and optimize equipment performance while coordinating with maintenance and supervisors.

The role requires experience in water treatment, strong safety practices, and the ability to mentor junior staff and handle on-call responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (read/write/understand English).
• Associate's degree in a science or technical area strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned team in operating and maintaining water/wastewater treatment and related equipment to meet permit and operational requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to team; troubleshoot issues and implement cost-effective solutions.
• Prepare work orders and related reports; conduct field tests and sampling per schedule.
• Monitor controls, collect data, and ensure safety practices and regulatory compliance.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
• Mentor less experienced operators and coordinate with supervision to meet production goals.
