Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking an Assistant Chief Wastewater Operator to lead the wastewater treatment plant and collection system operations. The role works with the Chief to ensure compliance, train new operators, and participate in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, performing maintenance, supervising work orders, and mentoring staff. The position requires outdoor work, exposure to industrial environments, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; able to communicate in writing and orally.
• Associate's or Bachelor’s in a science/technical field preferred.
• At least one year of experience in an operations environment.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead wastewater plant and collection system operations under Chief Wastewater Operator.
• Troubleshoot process issues and adjust setpoints for permit compliance.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance and supervise work orders.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours coverage.
• Train new operators and interns on SOPs and procedures.
