Job summary

Waggoner Engineering, Inc. in Jackson, MS seeks a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to lead design and analysis of civil water and wastewater projects. You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team, prepare plans, reports, and contract documents, and ensure projects meet schedule and budget.

Requires a PE license, a Bachelor’s in Civil/Environmental Engineering, and 8+ years of experience with water/wastewater facilities, hydraulics, and regulatory knowledge. Remote work is not offered.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
Minimum of eight years of experience.
Experience designing water and/or wastewater treatment facilities.
Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes and hydraulics.
Knowledge of applicable water and wastewater regulations and permitting requirements.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

Responsibilities

Performs engineering analyses and evaluations in support of planning and design of civil works projects.
Designs water distribution systems, water supply and treatment components, and wastewater systems.
Assesses existing system conditions and develops remedial measures.
Maintains communications with clients throughout project development and completion.
Prepares project designs using engineering software and tools.
Assists in preparation of contract documents and technical specifications.
