Waggoner Engineering, Inc. in Jackson, MS is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our team. The role focuses on planning, design and technical assistance within budget and schedule constraints, working closely with a multidisciplinary design team.

You will lead analyses and designs of water and wastewater systems, interact with clients, and contribute to meaningful community projects. A PE license and 8+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering required.
• Minimum of eight years of experience in water/wastewater engineering.
• Experience designing water and/or wastewater treatment facilities.
• Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes and hydraulics.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Excel or similar design software.
• Ability to develop engineering calculations, plans, specs and reports.
• Knowledge of water/wastewater regulations and permitting requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• PE license required.

Responsabilités

Description

Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our team in Jackson, MS. This role supports our continued growth and offers the opportunity to work on (or support) meaningful projects alongside a collaborative, experienced team. The focus of this position is providing planning, design and technical assistance to Discipline Manager and other members of design team in delivering projects within budgetary and time constraints.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs engineering analyses and evaluations (primarily computer-based) in support of the planning and design of civil works projects.
• Performs analysis and design of water distribution systems; water supply and treatment components; sanitary sewer systems and components; transmission, treatment and disposal systems; POTWs and other projects.
• Conducts assessment and evaluation of existing system conditions and develops recommended remedial measures.
• Maintains and documents written and verbal communications with clients throughout the development and completion of a project
• Conducts project status review with project manager and team members, checking accuracy of work completed, and monitors timeliness of project completion.
• Attends meetings on project management.
• Assists Project Manager in preparation of engineering studies and reports.
• Prepares project design using sound engineering principles, engineering software and tools.
• Assists in preparation of contract documents and technical specifications.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering
• Minimum of Eight years of experience
• Experience designing water and/or wastewater treatment facilities.
• Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes and hydraulics.
• Experience with engineering design software such as AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Excel, or similar platforms.
• Ability to develop engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and technical reports.
• Knowledge of applicable water and wastewater regulations and permitting requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
