Job summary

Waggoner Engineering in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our design team. The role focuses on planning, design and technical support for projects delivered within budget and schedule constraints.

You will perform engineering analyses, design water/wastewater systems, assess existing conditions and help prepare studies, reports, and technical specifications. Collaboration with the Discipline Manager and project team is essential to successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
• Active PE license required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs engineering analyses and evaluations for planning and design of civil works projects.
• Designs water distribution systems, water supply and treatment components, sanitary sewer systems, and POTWs.
• Assesses existing system conditions and recommends remedial measures.
• Maintains written and verbal communications with clients throughout projects.
• Conducts project status reviews with project manager and team members.
• Attends project management meetings.
• Assists in preparation of engineering studies and reports.
• Prepares project design using engineering principles and software.
• Assists in preparation of contract documents and technical specifications.
