Job summary

Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead a multidisciplinary team delivering water and transportation projects from Hernando, MS.

The hybrid position offers growth opportunities and a collaborative culture. Requirements include PE licensure (or ability to obtain in other states within 90 days), 6+ years of related experience, and proficiency with MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Geopak, and Open Roads.

Qualifications

• Requires PE licensure or ability to obtain licensure in other states within 90 days.
• 6+ years of related engineering and design experience.
• Civil engineering certifications applicable to practice.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws/regulations pertaining to public works infrastructure.
• Proficient in MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Geopak, Open Roads, and related DOT software.
• Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

Responsibilities

• Performs engineering analysis and design (2D/3D) for roadways, water systems, and related infrastructure.
• Lead a small team of junior engineers.
• Prepare construction plans, specs, and bid documents.
• Assess existing conditions and propose remedial measures.
• Conduct construction-phase engineering and site reviews.
• Maintain clear communication with clients throughout projects.
• Monitor project status and ensure timely completion.
• Prepare engineering studies and reports.
• Provide technical guidance and training to project members.
• Ensure adherence to codes and quality control procedures.
